YDPN with the support of Xiomara Galvan of CHALK are excited to prepare youth workers for CNYD's Investing in Youth Workers. 
 

During this interactive session, craft your own story as to why you are in this field and what you need in order to stay committed, learn more about what youth workers across the Bay Area are saying they need to stay within the field, and help build a united youth worker voice!

1.      People Connections

Purpose statement:

Connecting and empowering YOUth workers to create change by giving YOUth workers opportunities and access to resources that will foster and create sustainable spaces for young people to grow and learn

Guiding Questions:

a.         Why did you choose this connection? Or What resonates with you about the purpose of this connection?

b.         What do you need to intentionally foster this connection?

c.         What is one action we can collectively take to support you?

 

2.      Financial Connections

Purpose statement:

Connecting and empowering YOUth workers to financial institutions and resources, so YOUth workers can gain financial independence through access to programs that build financial literacy and awareness, affordable housing, and health care - to name a few

Guiding Questions:

a.         Why did you choose this connection? Or What resonates with you about the purpose of this connection?

b.         What do you need to intentionally foster this connection?

c.         What is one action we can collectively take to support you?

 

3.      Intrapersonal Connections

Purpose statement:

Connecting and empowering YOUth worker to themselves through creating intentional spaces that promote reflection, rejuvenation, self-care, and advocacy skill development

Guiding Questions:

a.         Why did you choose this connection? Or What resonates with you about the purpose of this connection?

b.         What do you need to intentionally foster this connection?

c.         What is one action we can collectively take to support you?

 

4.      Professional Connections

Purpose statement:

Connecting and empowering YOUth workers to develop themselves professionally and collectively by giving YOUth workers access to relevant educational and professional development opportunities, job opportunities, and convening youth workers and decision makers to identify possible career pathways
